Whoever knows the city of Jakarta would also know the National Monument (Monas). If you have never been there, you might think that it’s hot and noisy, as it is located at the very center of the city surrounded by busy roads. Actually that’s not true at all. Not only situated within a huge square, the square itself is surrounded by tall mahogany trees. The surrounding trees keep the area away from road noises, making it a nice place to relax or read books. Plus you are also able to breath clean air and feel the breeze.
Located in the middle of West Jakarta, this could be the best getaway place from the city and relax in a very natural environment. Here you can hear sound of birds and crickets and breathe fresh air.
Whoever read Indonesian local newspaper during year 2012 must’ve known this place. Yup, Waduk Pluit city park is a famous park built during Jokowi’s first year as Jakarta governor. This park is located on the west side of Pluit reservoir, and extended along Ali Sadikin street to the south side of the reservoir.
Hello world! Today I’ve just started my new blog named “Urban Oasis”. What is this all about?
Well, if you are living in an urban city, you might be missing something that is hard to find in a big bustling city. Yep, green areas and parks full of the beauty of the nature. That may not be the case if you are living in a developed country with good urban planning and development. But that’s not the case down in Jakarta, at least not yet for now. So, here in this blog, as I begin to achieve my dream to travel around places, I will post some pictures of green places where you can relax and enjoy breeze of natural air and hear birds singing within the city full of buildings and vehicles and people.
